It also has a lot of power and can even drive hard drive headphones like the hifiman he560 (that I'm about to buy). The c5, FOR ME, hit the spot nicely in terms of sound and it confirmed what a lot of the reviews here said re its clarity. I found the e12 had too much lower end that was a little loose for me. The c5 was $180 v about $120 here In Australia but the c5 was a lot cleaner. The only two portable amps I auditioned when looking for something to use with my fiio x5 was this cayin c5 and the fiio e12. However in portable amps I bought the cayin C5 after I was pointed in that direction. If you find out further info yourself, in this area, let me know I was told by a music store that I could buy a headphone preamp and connect that between the interface and the imac to add that power.
I beleive from what I have been told that one issue with the 2i2 (using it with my iMac) is the lack of power it gets from the usb connection. I'm new to the amp world too and also own the scarlett 2i2
#EXTERNAL USB AUDIO INTERFACE REVIEWS MANUAL#
I read some posts about "reading the manual of the audio interface" and connecting it to the right output, which mostly seemed to be stereo cables, so is there not a better option like connecting it through the 30 pin adapter? The BandLab Link Analog Audio Interface is not only one of the best cheap audio interfaces on the market, it’s one of the best USB audio interfaces in the world today due to its small size. So maybe the E11 might not be significantly better than the 2i2 so it might not be a big difference but when I get a better amp, how would I do it? Wouldn't I be better off then to also connect the amp to the audio interface other than through a stereo cable? So about E11, I heard when using it on iOS devices, it is better to connect it through the 30 pin adapter rather than the stereo cable
I am hesitant to spend too much on amps since this is my first time using them so I am looking at cheaper ones, such as the Fiio E11 I want to use the headphones when I listen on my iPhone too so I am looking into portable amps I have never used headphone amps before and when listening on my desktop used my focusrite 2i2 to plug in my headphones but now I hear for the headphones above I need headphone amps. The external USB audio interfaces from ESI are high quality solutions for connection with both portable computers or desktop systems in any studio envrionment with a flexible connection. slightly towards AKG's right now)Īnd I have realized I would need headphone amps for this
#EXTERNAL USB AUDIO INTERFACE REVIEWS UPGRADE#
I have recently been trying to upgrade my headphone to an AKG K701(or Q701) or Sennheiser HD650 (so many posts about this but still kind of lost.
